Who We Are : The Trade Secrets

Julia Costanza
Founder and President
With a background in consumer behavior, event planning, and marketing, Julia intimately understands the value of event based marketing. She founded The Trade Secrets to both provide an opportunity for young professionals in her community to work in an exciting industry, and to assist companies in directly touching customers and partners, all in a fun and exciting environment.
Her focus in the wine and hospitality industries has given Julia experience in every aspect of the market from production, pricing, marketing, and product placement, to consumer choices. She developed a method for hedonic pricing for wines and used this to assist wineries with pricing and marketing new and existing products in the market place. She also served as the Technical Editor for a ratings magazine in Sonoma, CA with responsibilities ranging from graphic design to providing all market research and content for the ratings and buying guide.
For the past 6 years, Julia has enjoyed working in video games and technology, organizing events and PR for product launches and trade shows such as CES, GDC and e3. Before completing her Master’s degree in 2000 at UC Davis, Julia enjoyed a 10-year career in hospitality.
Josh Davis
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Josh currently serves as Vice President of The Trade Secrets, with the direct responsibilities of developing the products and the sales & marketing programs for the wedding industry division.
Josh has a unique background and perspective on business that is drawn as much from real-world experience as it is from education and job training. He had the opportunity as a young man to spend a year of his life traveling from coast to coast, immersing himself in local cultures ranging in diversity from a Colorado dude ranch, to a Washington military town, and an Alaskan fishing village. After his travels had ceased, Josh returned to Nashville, TN, where he began his professional career in management while finishing his college education. He graduated with honors in May of 2005 from Middle Tennessee State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Management with a minor in Marketing. Josh spent the 5 years following graduation climbing the corporate ranks of a national sporting goods retailer. Along the way he was responsible for over $3 Million a year in sales, while consistently increasing profitability in the areas of sales, labor, and inventory management. After achieving the status of Manager Trainer, he combined his keen eye for talent with his ability to train and develop outstanding leaders, and was named Manager Trainer of the Year for the entire company. In 2009, after earning another promotion, Josh realized that it was time for a new adventure after being presented with the opportunity to move to California and become partners with his sister, Julia Costanza, who is President of the Trade Secrets. “It had always been our dream to own a business together,” Josh proclaimed about this opportunity. He is now working feverishly to bring “the next generation” of marketing to the wedding industry using cutting edge technology and the latest trends in consumer behavior. Josh enjoys networking and prefers to do business face-to-face, so he can see clients in their own environment and get a better understanding of the uniqueness of their business and how to best market those qualities. He is very happy to be a Californian and to experience all the great relationships and benefits that come with being involved in such a wonderful industry in this region.

Andrea Price
Executive Assistant
Andrea grew up near Nashville, Tennessee, where she developed a strong sense of hospitality and Southern charm. Always finding herself drawn to serve others, she fell naturally into the Customer Service industry in high school, and has enjoyed a career in the field for over 10 years.
Starting small as a retail cashier, she has gained related experience in many areas, from restaurant management to hybrid contact lens manufacturing. Moving to San Diego in 2005 to see how the other side of the country lives, she brought her upbeat attitude and warm demeanor with her, and she continues to serve on the west coast.
